One of the issues of recent times is the breakdown of the family. Our busy schedules keep our lives fragmented and we talk about quality time rather than quantity time. Things such as the family meal, long walks together, and sitting on the front porch chatting in the evening are things of the past. We as parents are involved with our jobs and social events, while our children are involved with their own sports, school, and social activities. Is it any wonder we feel disconnected from each other and that children often have difficulty understanding their parents' faith and how to internalize that faith as their own?

And yet Deuteronomy 6:7 says that we should “teach them (God's Laws) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” It is our job to pass on our faith to our children and to give them a Godly heritage. We know this, but most of us find the task intimidating and don't know exactly how to start.

The Homebuilders program has arisen out of a desire to help strengthen families by equipping parents to lead their families in worship on a daily basis. Homebuilders is a non-age-segregated, multi-generational Bible Class for the entire family. Everyone is given lessons for each week as a tool to use in their daily worship times and then they return on the following Sunday to share Scriptures that have been memorized, spiritual insights learned, Bible drills, review games, etc. We hope that this will be a special time each week that your whole family looks forward to.
